Veneers

veneers

Are you looking to wow people with your smile? Porcelain veneers provide a subtle change that makes a big impact. Veneers can restore your smile and are perfect in cases where orthodontic treatment is not available. With each shell customised to match the natural colour of your teeth, this is an aesthetically pleasing option that is sure to give you the smile you’ve been hoping for.

How Does it Work?

When you visit Gentle Smiles Dental for your first appointment, your dentist will remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth to make room for the veneers to fit. After this, they will take a mould of your teeth which will be sent off to a laboratory. They will also determine the precise shade of your teeth. Once the veneers have been created, they will be bonded to your teeth. Your dentist will use a special light for about sixty seconds to secure them in place.

What are porcelain veneers?

veneers

Porcelain veneers are the perfect solution for anyone struggling with tooth spacing, discoloured or crooked teeth. A veneer is a thin porcelain shell that can be bonded to your teeth to give the illusion of naturally full, aligned teeth. Veneers are a much more durable option than composite resins. Each individual shell is created for your teeth and designed to cover any unattractive chips or cracks.

What Can They Do for me?

Here are just a few of the benefits veneers can offer you:

  • Brighten teeth.
  • Improving tooth shape.
  • Close teeth gaps.
  • Adjust teeth size and length
  • Realign crooked teeth.
  • Reverse discolouration.
  • Maintain your natural tooth composition.

WHY ARE THEY THE BEST OPTION FOR ME?

veneers

Porcelain veneers are often considered a desirable option as the treatment is non-invasive. The recovery is swift, and you can go back to eating all your favourite foods in no time at all. Veneers are also beneficial in that they can help stave off tooth decay by closing up the gaps between your teeth. This will prevent food from getting lodged in between.
To be suitable for porcelain veneers, your teeth should be moderately intact without too many fillings, as the veneer needs to be able to bond to the natural tooth below.
Once your treatment is complete, you should maintain basic oral hygiene by brushing at least twice a day and flossing daily. Make sure trapped bacteria doesn’t cause plaque and cavities by paying adequate attention to where the veneer meets the gum.
